WORD OF THE WEEK
Courtesy is the act of having excellent manners. Someone who is courteous is extra helpful and always looking out for the benefit of others. A courteous person lends a helping hand to those who need it, whether it is helping Mom and Dad with the groceries or letting someone sit in your seat while you stand. Courtesy includes helping out at home by cleaning your room and putting up the dishes after dinner. At school, show courtesy to your teachers and classmates, by listening and following instructions and using respectful language such as "Yes Ma'am", "Yes Sir", and "Please" or "Thank You". If you practice courtesy each and every day, it will become a habit and way of life. Bring in a note this week listing FIVE ways you practice courtesy daily and you will earn an extra stripe for your belt!
